BUGMAN, Anne Zauner

BUGMAN - Anne Zauner Age 92, died peacefully at home on May 22, 2016, in Shreveport, LA. Anne was born on June 5, 1923 in Engelsbrunn, Romania, to parents Nicholas Zauner and Teresia Schankula Zauner. She immigrated to America at the age of 13, living in New York City, and quickly learned English and adapted to life in the U.S. Following school, she trained as a beautician and worked in a salon. After moving to Buffalo, NY, she met Bob Bugman, and they were married on July 4, 1947. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before his death in 2001. In Shreveport, she worked as a Sales Associate, both for Dillard's and the Smart Shop for many years. She was a communicant of St. John Berchmans Cathedral. Among her many talents, Anne was a wonderful baker and an excellent cook. Her children enjoyed delicious cookies, cakes and dishes from the "Old Country," and got to hear many entertaining tales about growing up in a small German community in Romania. Toward the end of her life, she was given wonderful care by her daughter Elizabeth, who kept her at home throughout her struggle with dementia. She is survived by three daughters: Nancy Nolan of Jamestown, NY, Kathy Barnard and husband Ron of Indianapolis, IN and Elizabeth Wren and husband Marcus of Shreveport. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Christopher Nolan (wife Shawna) of New City, NY, Heather Nolan (widow of Patrick Nolan) of Bemus Point, NY, Sarah Barnard Brothers (husband Matt) of Indianapolis and Marc, Pierce and Samantha Wren of Shreveport, her great-grandchildren Howie, Brody, Meghann and Erin Nolan of Bemus Point, Connor and Luke Nolan of New City and Sam Brothers of Indianapolis and her precious furry companion, Kleiner, her much-loved and devoted Yorkie. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert C. Bugman, of Shreveport, her son, David C. Bugman, of Fairview, PA and her grandson, Patrick D. Nolan, of Bemus Point, brother, Nicholas Zauner of Buffalo, NY. A private memorial service will be held for the family.
