M&T Bank Corp. named Doris P. Meister head of its Wilmington Trust wealth management businesses, effective Aug. 15. She will also join M&T’s management group as an executive vice president. Meister came to M&T from BNY Mellon, where she served since 2009 as president of U.S. markets for BNY Wealth Management. The Michigan native has 40 years of financial and executive management experience.
Patrick Merewether, PE, a transportation engineer at Erdman Anthony, recently earned his license as a professional engineer in New York.
He is a member of the Transportation Engineering core business team in the firm’s Buffalo office.
Merewether holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University at Buffalo, and a certification from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in construction safety and health.
Taunya Fourtner-Abaya was hired as a financial planner by Buffalo First Wealth Management. Fourtner-Abaya received her Financial Planner Certificate from Old Dominion University.
She also has a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Miami University, and a master’s degree in special education from D’Youville College.
Gowanda Components Group, a maker of electronic components, has acquired Butler Winding in Butler, Pa. Butler Winding will be relocated to Gowanda Components in Arcade.
Orchard Park-based Curbell Plastics donated materials from its Rochester location to help the Rochester Institute of Technology Electric Vehicle Team build and test an electric motorcycle. The motorcycle was raced against other student and professional teams at New Jersey Motorsports Park earlier this month.
