All-Western New York baseball first-team outfielder Leugim "LG" Castillo of Lancaster has been named to the MaxPreps Junior All-American Team.
Castillo played error-free baseball in helping the Legends to a 21-3 record and the Section VI Class AA championship. Castillo hit .492 with 13 of his 29 hits going for extra bases, including seven home runs. He also scored 29 runs, finished with 26 RBIs and stole 16 bases.
Last month, the Oklahoma Sooners commit participated in the USA Baseball Tournament of Stars event used to determine tryout candidates for the national 18-under team that will represent Old Glory in the Pan-Am Games in the fall.
He is second local honored by MaxPreps. Prep Talk Player of Year Dan Dallas of Canisius earned All-American second team honors.
