Robert J. McCarthy has been a reporter for The News since 1982, and a political reporter since 1992. Cleveland and Philadelphia will mark his 13th and 14th conventions, beginning with the Democratic National Convention that nominated Bill Clinton in 1992. McCarthy has traveled with several presidential campaigns and covered Jack Kemp’s campaign for vice president in 1996. Jerry Zremski is Washington bureau chief for The Buffalo News. Zremski joined the News Washington Bureau in 1989 and has covered five national political conventions, including both the Democratic and Republican conventions in 2012. In addition, he covered the Iraq War, the capture of fugitive James C. Kopp in France and numerous other stories around the country and around the world. Tim O’Shei joined The Buffalo News in January 2015 as a features reporter. He previously worked as an editor at Buffalo Business First, where he covered Jack Davis, Hillary Clinton and Tim Russert, and wrote about government and politics.
