Man arrested on narcotics charges after Brant traffic stop

A Town of Tonawanda man and his passenger were arrested on narcotics charges Friday afternoon after bags of heroin were discovered in his car during a traffic stop.

Christopher Izzo, 33, was going 44 mph in a 30-mph zone in a white Buick when he was pulled over, according to the Brant Police Department. The officer then checked his license plate and found it belonged to a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado. Additionally, Izzo did not have insurance in effect and he had two active warrants in Orchard Park.

Officers inspecting the vehicle found used heroin wrappers on the floor and between the front seats. They also found a shopping bag filled with syringes and 21 individual bags of heroin.

In addition to narcotics charges, Izzo was held accountable for a speeding violation, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operation of motor vehicle without insurance. He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center.

His passenger, Kelly Brown, 35, of Snyder, was charged with drug possession and released on her own recognizance. The vehicle was impounded.
