Erie County Republicans love Ivanka

Ivanka Trump, the oldest daughter of Republican presidential nominee Donald J. Trump, will provide the lead up tonight to her father's much-anticipated acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

She's well thought of by many in the local GOP delegation, including Kim Bowers, the president of the Erie County Federation of Republican Women.

Bowers, an alternate delegate to the convention, provided the lead quote in an ABC News story today about Republicans' excitement over Ivanka.

“Ivanka amazes me,” Bowers told ABC News. “I think she is a strong woman who has a phenomenal work ethic and it shows a lot about Donald Trump the father."

Bowers talked to ABC News Wednesday after watching Trump arrive by helicopter, with his family on the ground to greet him.

“These kids grew up in a privileged atmosphere but they have a strong work ethic and they don't take the life they have for granted,” Bowers was quoted as saying to ABC News.

It was an exciting moment for the local delegation, who found they'd gone national, too.
