Jane Anne Gorman, an active volunteer, died Sunday in her West Seneca home. She was 69.
Born in Frankfurt, Germany, where her father was assistant chief of staff for the Army V Corps headquarters, the former Jane Anne Dunlop lived and attended school in various parts of the world, including Switzerland, Germany, Syria and Jordan, as well as stateside in California, Texas, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
She met her husband, Army Lt. William J. Gorman III, at a dance at an Army base in Germany in 1966.
They were married the following year and moved to Buffalo.
The mother of seven, Mrs. Gorman was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for more than 15 years and did volunteer work at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and Queen of Heaven School. She was a member of the diocesan Bishop’s Committee.
A dedicated gardener, she also was a member of the Garden Club at Queen of Heaven Church.
Her husband, who became a longtime public affairs officer for the Buffalo district office of the IRS, died in 1998.
Survivors include four sons, William J. IV, Patrick M., Matthew D. and Ryan T.; three daughters, Courtney A., Sarah E. Molnar and Emily C.; three sisters, Nancy Cawdrey, Sarah Childers and Elizabeth Dunlop; and eight grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:15 a.m. Friday in Queen of Heaven Church, 4220 Seneca St., West Seneca.
