LOCKPORT – Lazarus R. Hayes, who flunked out of a court-supervised drug treatment program, was sentenced Monday to 18 months in state prison.
Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon imposed the penalty on Hayes, 27, of Pierce Avenue, Niagara Falls. He pleaded guilty two years ago to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance for selling cocaine in North Tonawanda Aug. 28, 2013. He was admitted to the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment, but was unable to complete it.
In addition to the prison term, Sheldon ordered Hayes to serve two years of post-release supervision.
