NORTH TONAWANDA – Mayor Arthur G. Pappas has announced that the application deadline has been extended to July 27 for the Project HOPE home makeover contest for North Tonawanda residents.
The original deadline for the sixth annual event was Friday.
Jesse Gooch, the owner of Painters Plus, a North Tonawanda business, is the founder of Project HOPE – Helping Others Paint Exteriors. Using paint donated by the Sherwin Williams store on Meadow Drive in the city, Gooch’s crew and accompanying volunteers will pressure wash, prime and paint the home of an elderly, disabled or poor person on the weekend of Aug. 6.
Applications should include photos of the house and a paragraph about the applicant’s hardship. Applications can be made online at http://www.PaintersPlus.US, by mail to Painters Plus, 800 Walck Road, North Tonawnda, or on forms available at City Hall and the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas. The winner will be chosen July 29.
