NORTH HARMONY – Authorities charged a Jamestown woman with drunken driving on Wednesday night after they said she showed up drunk to a victim impact panel meeting.
Kimberly D. Buffone, 52, who was sentenced earlier this year for driving while intoxicated, arrived at the Erie 2 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Board of Cooperative Educational Services building at West Lake Road and North Maple Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. showing signs of intoxication, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said.
Victim impact panel meetings involve individuals who have been victimized by drunk drivers talking to offenders in an effort that the offenders won’t drive drunk again. Wednesday’s meeting was coordinated by the Chautauqua County Stop DWI program.
Buffone was charged with DWI and was released with an upcoming appearance date for North Harmony Town Court.
