Former Canisius College star Cory Conacher signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning, the team announced Wednesday.
Conacher recorded nine goals and 24 points in 35 games for the Lightning in 2012-13. He was traded to Ottawa for Ben Bishop and had NHL stints with the Sens, Buffalo Sabres and New York Islanders. He played last season for Bern SC in the Swiss A league, recording 22 goals and 32 assists in 48 games. Conacher was also part of Canada’s gold medal winning team at the Spengler Cup.
Conacher set 12 programs records at Canisius and still holds the school’s Division I mark for career points (147) and goals (62).
