LOCKPORT – A Cambria man has been indicted on charges of accepting a 50-pound shipment of marijuana from Oregon.
Jerry L. Alcorn, 57, of Ridge Road, appeared Thursday in Niagara County Court to plead not guilty to first-degree criminal possession of marijuana and unlawfully growing cannabis. The latter charge was lodged because police allegedly found some pot plants in his house, Assistant District Attorney Laura T. Bittner said.
The 50.58-pound package of pot allegedly arrived Aug. 3.
In another drug arraignment Thursday, Thomas J. Pryor Jr., 23, of Division Avenue, Niagara Falls, pleaded not guilty to two counts each of third-degree criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance. Bittner said Pryor allegedly sold cocaine to a police informant in the Falls on Sept. 21 and 25.
