The family leading the effort to raise awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Western & Central New York Light the Night Walk in September will host a fundraiser Thursday evening at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park.
Team AnnaLynn – created in 2008 to help AnnaLynn Surace Williams, then 22, in her successful battle with acute leukemia – will lead “Rock the Little Rock” from 6 to 10 p.m. aboard the USS Little Rock in Buffalo Harbor.
Read more here about how AnnaLynn Surace Williams' support network helped her battle leukemia.
The event will include music featuring The Informers, as well as food by Dinosaur BBQ and a cash bar.
Proceeds will benefit society-funded research and patient programs.
Tickets cost $35 and are available online at RockTheLittleRock.eventbrite.com.
Those unable to attend who would like to make a donation can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Light the Night Walk will take place Sept. 23 in Delaware Park. Williams’ parents, Rocco and Debbie Surace, of Lockport, are co-chairs.
They and other family members have been among LLS leaders since AnnaLynn’s diagnosis and treatment. A drug developed through research funding from the society, and approved only five years prior to her diagnosis, was key to her recovery.
