Re-enactors portray famous Lockport residents Sunday in cemetery

LOCKPORT – Lockport’s Step Back in Time Players, a group of historical re-enactors, will portray some of the permanent resident of Cold Springs Cemetery in a walking tour at 1 p.m. Sunday in the cemetery, 4849 Cold Springs Road.

Lyman and Amy Spalding, early Lockprot settlers, will be played by Dennis and Carol Caisse. Industrialist Charles Upson will be portrayed by Dave Zimmerman, while Birdsall Holly, inventor of the fire hydrant, will be played by Charlie Begley. Marsha Zimmer will play educator Charlotte Cross, after whom a Lockport school is named,

Tickets are $10. Spectators are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella and camp stool, if needed. The tour will begin at the Cold Springs Road cemetery entrance and last approximately 90 minutes.

The Step Back in Time Players will also present a tour of Lockport’s Glenwood Cemetery at 1 p.m. Aug. 7, and an additional tour of Cold Springs Cemetery at 1 p.m. Sept. 11.
