Luella A. Schuldt, of Hamburg, a retired teacher, died July 5 in Mercy Hospital. She was 91.
Born in Lackawanna, the former Luella Schutrum was a graduate of South Park High School and Buffalo State Teachers College.
She was a home economics teacher in the Maryvale School District in Cheektowaga and retired in 1985.
Schuldt was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Orchard Park, where she was a member of Diamonds in the Rough and Pastor Mike’s Bible study.
At Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church in Buffalo, she volunteered in the Lutheran Association for Developmental Disabilities and the food pantry. She also played in the bell choir.
Her husband of 31 years – the Rev. W. Bernhard Schuldt, pastor of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Cheektowaga – died in 1979.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Schulte and Lynn Sipprell; three sons, Marc, Douglas and Paul; a sister, Dorothy Schutrum Bremner; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. July 31 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 900 Maryvale Drive, Cheektowaga.
