Man arrested for drugs and trying to sell a borrowed cell phone

Gregory Hanks, 30, of Breckenridge Avenue, was arrested Tuesday night for drug possession and allegedly trying to sell a cell phone he had borrowed Monday from a neighbor.

Hanks was arrested about 10 p.m. after allegedly trying to sell the cell phone in a Hampshire Street store. As he was being taken into custody, police officers reported finding he was carrying a bundle containing five glassine bags of heroin. He was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and petit larceny.
