Calamar appointed Brandon Rath chief investment officer for Calamar Capital Services, an investment and finance division. Rath previously was with Beacon Bay Holdings. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine, and earned his JD from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles.

Schunk, Wilson & Co. Certified Public Accountants promoted Jeffery Kruszka to partner in the firm’s Tax and Assurance Practice Groups. Kruszkap, a CPA, is a graduate of the University at Buffalo.

OSEA (Occupational Safety and Environmental Associates) named Michele Pratt vice president business development. Pratt holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Fredonia.

Niagara University appointed Chandra J. Foote dean of the College of Education. Foote had been serving as interim dean. She earned bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from Syracuse University.

Niagara University promoted Robert H. Healy to director of veteran services and appointed Karl Hinterberger veteran services coordinator. Healy joined the university in December 2010 as its first veteran services coordinator. A 30-year member of the U. S. Air Force, he holds a bachelor’s degree from Houghton College and a master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. Hinterberger has served as an AmeriCorps volunteer for the last two years. A U. S. Army veteran, Hinterberger is a Niagara University graduate.

Catholic Health promoted Gloria Pirowski to director of its System Referral Support and Transfer Center located at Mercy Hospital. She previously served as the nurse manager of the hospital’s C.A.R.E. Unit. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Houghton College and most recently completed LEAN Six-Sigma Green Belt Certification.

The Burchfield Penney Art Center at SUNY Buffalo State named Jennifer L. Merlette director of development. Merlette joins the art center with a background in strategic planning, creation and management of all aspects of nonprofit fundraising. Most recently she served as director of development at Irish Classical Theatre Co. She holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Buffalo State.

New Era Cap Co. named Mark Maidment vice president, creative, and Josh Feine vice president, sports marketing and corporate partnerships. A University of Westminster graduate, Maidment was previously global creative/group CEO at Ben Sherman. Feine most recently was director of sales at Pegula Sports and Entertainment. He is a St. Lawrence University graduate.

Theatre of Youth appointed Michael R. Kelly III marketing coordinator. Previously, Kelly was community outreach coordinator for Cradle Beach Camp in Angola. He received his bachelor’s degree from Keuka College and his master’s degree from Lasell College in Massachusetts.

YourCare Health Plan, formerly known as Monroe Plan for Medical Care, named Kristen Janosko corporate communications manager. Janosko holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester and a master’s degree from Canisius College.

VA Western New York Healthcare System named Royce G. Calhoun associate medical center director. Calhoun earned his master’s degree from the University of Colorado at Denver and his undergraduate degree at D’Youville College.

The certified public accounting firm of Tronconi Segarra & Associates promoted Mary L. Shetler to senior manager. Shetler, a CPA, serves clients in the firm’s accounting & auditing, tax and small business departments. She is a graduate of Canisius College. Also, the firm promoted Alec J. Marotto to manager in the firm’s accounting & auditing department and Maria A. Dojka to manager in the firm’s small business department. Marotto, a CPA, joined the firm in 2009 immediately upon graduation from the University at Buffalo. Dojka, a CPA, joined the firm in 2008 and is a graduate of Niagara University.

Elbers Landscape Service appointed Alison Smith manager of the company’s Garden Center. Smith earned her bachelor’s degree from Nazareth University in Rochester. Most recently she was assistant grower at Maitri Organic Farm in Amenia.

Hi-Tech Services promoted John Weider to senior systems engineer. Weider has 20 years of experience with Hi-Tech as an IT consultant, solutions architect and software developer.
