Police say there was something fishy about Whitney Avenue burglary

NIAGARA FALLS – The burglars entered a Whitney Avenue home Friday afternoon, causing an estimated $125 in damage – but also feeding a pet fish, Niagara Falls police said.

The suspected burglars – 6- and 8-year-old neighbor boys – were confronted by the resident who spotted them walking out of her home about 2:30 p.m. The boys, police said, told the resident they heard a noise coming from the upstairs area and went in to investigate. The resident discovered several things had been knocked over, causing the damage, but nothing was stolen, police added.

The woman, police said, approached the boys’ mother, who denied the two were involved.
