WISCHERATH, Lambert Joseph, Jr.

WISCHERATH - Lambert Joseph, Jr. Formerly of Liverpool, NY and Buffalo, NY, passed away peacefully in Houston, TX on July 1, 2016. He was a very caring man who would unequivocally help his family, friends, and even strangers. He deeply enjoyed traveling to the Adirondack Mountains with his family, and always enjoyed following University of Notre Dame sports.
Lambert is survived by his dedicated wife of 64 years, Sally C. (Pfalzer) Wischerath, and his five children: son, L. Joseph Wischerath of Charleston, SC; daughter, Sally A. (Wischerath) Centrich of Collierville, TN; daughter, Karen M. (Wischerath) Sager of Duxbury, MA; daughter, Susan E. (Wischerath) Cornell of Sugar Land, TX; daughter, Linda J. (Wischerath) Sutton of Kennesaw, GA, and he was preceded in death by his son, William R. Wischerath. Lambert is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and his brother, Robert Wischerath of Orchard Park, NY. Lambert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served at the end of WWII. He was a graduate of Bennett High School and Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, served in various sales and executive positions throughout his life, and was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Liverpool, NY. Lambert always took great pride in his six children, counseling them, assisting them, and, above all, loving them. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 7th at Holy Cross Church, 4112 East Genesee St., Dewitt, NY. Interment will be private in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will hold a Memorial Service in Houston, TX at a future date. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the William R. Wischerath Outstanding Chemistry Major Award at the University of Notre Dame. Checks should be made payable to the University of Notre Dame and mailed to L.
