True Bethel Baptist Church will breathe new life into a former firehouse in Buffalo.
The church’s True Community Development outreach arm will renovate the interior space to add four new offices, which will be used by the outreach arm as an expansion of its current offices at 594 Winslow Ave.
The new building is at 275 Kehr St., just south of the church’s East Ferry location. It was formerly the Buffalo Fire Department’s Engine No. 33.
The building, which is already being used as the church’s Help Center and clothes closet, was bought from the city about five years ago.
True Community Development is a non-profit organization that helps coordinate education, employment, parenting and homeownership programs for people in need.
