Buffaloman arrested for having meth in his pickup truck

Jason Yelder, 33, of Buffalo, who was pulled over March 30 by Hamburg police on Old Lakeshore Road for changing lanes unsafely now faces federal charges carrying a mandatory prison term of at least five and up to 40 years and a fine of up to $5 million if he is convicted.

U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. said the new charges stem from the discovery in the pickup truck he was driving at the time of that traffic stop of alleged quantities of methamphetamine packaged for sale, along with other illegal drugs and pills, some powdered crack cocaine, a digital drug scale, needles and drug packaging. Yelder has been in custody at the Erie County Holding Center since the March 30 traffic stop.
