Lancaster man ordered to repay Social Security Administration

Kevin Quinn, 60, of Lancaster, was spared prison but ordered Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo to repay the U.S. Social Security Administration the $134,213 he illegally collected for benefit checks that he kept depositing in a joint bank account after the deaths of his mother and father in the late 1990s. Quinn was convicted of theft of Social Security retirement benefits for failing to notify the agency of the deaths of his parents. Prosecutors said that between March 18, 1996 and March 3, 2014 when he was confronted by authorities, Quinn would use an ATM card to withdraw money from the bank account and spend it illegally.
