A chemistry professor at St. John Fisher College will serve as interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at Hilbert College in Hamburg.
Hilbert President Cynthia A. Zane announced on Wednesday the hiring of Kristina M. Lantzky-Eaton, who will take a leave of absence from her post as chairwoman of the chemistry department at St. John Fisher, outside of Rochester. The Hilbert appointment, effective July 5, is for one year. A search for a permanent provost will begin this fall.
Former provost Christopher L. Holoman left Hilbert recently to become president of Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport.
Lantzky-Eaton joined the faculty at St. John Fisher in 2003 and has been chairwoman of the chemistry department since 2010.
She is a graduate of Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa and received a doctorate in physical chemistry from the University of Wyoming.
