Buffalo man arrested for having a stolen and loaded revolver

A 22-year-old Freund Street man was arrested early Wednesday for allegedly having a revolver that was stolen from the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office.

Alphonso Payne was captured as he tried to hop a fence at the rear of a home in the 600 block of Norfolk Avenue about 1:50 a.m. Police reported watching as he threw down what proved to be a revolver loaded with 9 rounds of ammunition and reported stolen from the Schuyler Country Sheriff’s Office.

Payne was charged with felony counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He was also charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration for allegedly running away as officers confronted him on Norfolk.
