Sabres' depth chart could feature fluctuations for Girgensons

The Sabres are in the free-agent hunt. Fans are watching intently. Zemgus Girgensons might be, too.

No Sabres forward would be impacted more than Girgensons. As it stands now, the restricted free agent fits on the depth chart as the second left wing. If the Sabres add players, he could fall to fourth-line center.

Jimmy Vesey, recently acquired but unsigned, plays left wing and would bypass Girgensons. Steven Stamkos' arrival would move Ryan O'Reilly to the wing, once again dropping Girgensons.

As Girgensons waits for a contract, the Sabres' other moves will impact what he gets.
