Repeat bank robber gets stiff federal prison term

Kenneth Dykes, 50, a reportedly mentally-troubled Buffalo man, was ordered by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara Tuesday to serve a federal prison term of 175 months, on his recent guilty plea to robbing three M&T Bank branches between Jan. 14, 2015 and Jan. 20, 2015 and violating the supervised release terms he was given for a 2006 Buffalo bank robbery. Dykes robbed the M&T Bank branch on Seneca Street Jan. 14, 2015; the Blasdell branch on Lake Avenue Jan. 15, 2015 and the Niagara Falls Boulevard branch in Amherst Jan. 20. 2015. He violated terms of the supervised release he got for a 2006 M&T Bank robbery.
