Celoron man arrested in check forgeries

CELORON – A 24-year-old Celeron man was arrested Tuesday by the State Police for allegedly stealing a local persons checkbook and forging nine checks to himself. Zachary Card was charged with nine counts of first-degree forgery and petit larceny for allegedly forging the victim’s signature over a span of six months and illegally obtaining a total of $835. After being arraigned in Ellicott Town Court, Card was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in Mayville pending further court proceedings.
