Buffalo man given prison term for money laundering for drug gang

Wilfred Wylie, 35, of Buffalo was ordered Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo to serve five years and three months in federal prison on his conviction for conspiracy to commit money laundering. Assistant U.S. Attorney George C. Burgasser said Wylie was involved in out of state purchases of cocaine sold in Buffalo by the LRGP Gang which operated in the Lombard, Rother, Gibson and Playter streets area of the city. Over a year ago Wylie was arrested at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport and found to have $112,000 in U.S. currency he planned to take to Houston to purchase cocaine for the Buffalo drug gang.
