LOCKPORT – Calvin L. Williams, 49, pleaded not guilty Monday in Niagara County Court to an indictment accusing him of stealing his girlfriend’s car Dec. 16 in Lockport.
Williams, of no fixed address, is currently living in a drug treatment facility in Kenmore. He is charged with third- and fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and petit larceny. The latter count is for allegedly stealing the woman’s cellphone, Assistant District Attorney Joel M. Grundy said.
Judge Matthew J. Murphy III said Williams must stay in the treatment facility, where he’s undergoing a six-month treatment program.
Grundy said Williams has been arrested 35 times and convicted 27 times since 1988, including felonies for assault in 1993 and burglary in 2009.
