Marian Fairchild Roosa, a retired teacher, died June 9 in her Hamburg home. She was 101.
Born in Westfield, the former Marian Wrench was a National Honor Society graduate of Hamburg High School in 1933 and attended Cornell University. She taught science and biology in Frontier Central High School and Orchard Park High School for 25 years.
Mrs. Roosa enjoyed camping and other outdoor activities. She also painted more than 4,000 china lamps and did watercolor paintings. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star for about 75 years and a member of Kappa Delta sorority.
In retirement, she lived for many years in Venice, Fla.
Her husband of 57 years, Charles E., a teacher, died in 1998.
Survivors include a brother, Robert Wrench; two grandsons; and a great-grandson.
Services were held Saturday in the mausoleum in Hillcrest Cemetery, Hamburg.
