No decisions are expected Monday night on food trucks in Williamsville, but progress is being made as the Village Board accepts more comments.
The village is considering inviting the food trucks to take part in the popular Taste of Williamsville Aug. 7 in Island Park. And, even before final regulations are in place, the village may invite Lloyd Taco Trucks to be part of an Aug. 6 event in Island Park that will feature the Buffalo Niagara Concert Band.
Owners of several food trucks have been working with village officials to allow the popular mobile eateries to operate in the village.
“We will be using common sense to regulate food trucks in the village,” Mayor Brian J. Kulpa said. “We intend to maintain a registry, ask for proof of inspections annually and then let the market play out.”
The board is taking more public comment at Monday’s regular Village Board meeting at 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 5565 Main St. , and is likely to decide on final regulations by the end of July.
