Buffalo man admits robbing three more banks

A man with a record of robbing five banks added three more to his rap sheet Monday.

Kenneth Dykes, 51, of Buffalo, admitted robbing an M&T Bank branch on Seneca Street on Jan. 14, 2015, an M&T branch on Lake Avenue in Blasdell a day later and an M&T branch on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst about six days later.

Dykes, who suffers from mental illness, will face up to 14 years in prison when he is sentenced by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.

Dykes’ conviction is the result of a prosecution by Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy C. Lynch and an investigation by the FBI and police in Buffalo, Amherst and Blasdell.
