Black Rock man convicted of multiple felonies called “menace to society”

A Black Rock man convicted of multiple felonies, including attempted murder, was sentenced to 18 1/2 years in prison Monday.

Brandon Frontuto, 21, previously pleaded guilty before Justice M. William Boller to charges of attempted murder in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and two counts of attempted burglary in the third degree.

Frontuto burglarized a Cheektowaga home on Sept. 7, shot and wounded a mechanic during a robbery at a Hinman Avenue auto repair shop on Nov. 13, and burglarized the Pierce Arrow building on Elmwood Avenue on Nov. 14.

The crimes were part of a five-month spree that ended when police noticed a sawed-off shotgun in Frontuto’s car during a traffic stop on Feb. 18. Described by law enforcement as a “menace to the community,” he has been in custody since that time.
