Where we live: Clarence HollowFest coming next weekend

The fourth annual HollowFest Fourth of July Fair will take place from Saturday to July 4 in Town Park, 10405 Main St. Presented by the Clarence Hollow Association, it will feature rides, games, food, beer, live music and fireworks on the Fourth.

Highlights include a “touch a truck” display for youngsters from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday and a hot dog eating contest at 1 p.m. July 4. Providing music will be Supercharger on Saturday, the Boys of Summer on Sunday and Cock Robin on the Fourth.

This week:

• A public information meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the auditorium at Town Hall, One Town Place off Goodrich Road, to discuss the proposed construction and replacement of sidewalks along 2.6 miles of Main Street between Transit Road and Sheridan Drive.

• The Town Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Town Hall following a work session at 6 p.m.

• Reservations are needed by Thursday for the next Clarence Chamber of Commerce Lunch and Learn session at noon July 6 in the Protocol Restaurant, 6766 Transit Road, Amherst. Guest speaker will be Miriam Kelley, an adjunct professor at SUNY Buffalo State, whose topic will be “Creativity … Are you a Thinker or a Doer?” All are welcome.
