A Grand Island women’s group is offering a scholarship for a woman living on the Island who is interested in returning to school.
Offered by the Grand Island Professional Women’s Chapter, New York State Women, Inc., the award will be presented to an adult woman who has lived on Grand Island for at least two years, and interested in attending college or a trade school.
“The scholarship is not for high school seniors,” said President Diane Dinsmore.
Applicants must meet the entrance requirements of an accredited school, Dinsmore said. Copies of high school or college diplomas or GED, two letters of reference and a personal interview are required to receive the award. An essay is also required. The deadline for applications is July 10.
Applications are available at the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce Office, Grand Island Memorial Library or by contacting Dinsmore at 308-6230 or by email, email@example.com.
