Riverside teen charged with firing paintballs at stepmother’s, neighbor’s homes

A Riverside teenager is facing several charges after police say he fired paintballs at his stepmother’s house, a neighbor’s house and the neighbor’s car.

John A. Cruz, 18, of Gallatin Avenue was arrested Saturday afternoon after firing paintballs at his stepmother’s house, the latest in a long campaign of harassment by Cruz, according to a complaint filed by police. The attack was witnessed by a neighbor who told police that Cruz also had splattered his house, and then his vehicle as he sat in it, with paintballs on May 27, authorities said.

Police charged Cruz with two counts of harassment, two counts of menacing, reckless endangerment and criminal tampering.
