FC Buffalo scored an important victory Friday night in National Premier Soccer League play, defeating AFC Cleveland, 3-0, at All High Stadium.
With the win, the Wolves drew even with idle Indy Eleven for second place in the NPSL Midwest Region Great Lakes Conference East Division. The top two teams in the division qualify for the Midwest Region playoffs.
FC Buffalo opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when St. Bonaventure’s Kieran Toland converted a feed from Romario Guscott. Kendell McFayden and Regan Steele added insurance goals in the second half, while Nick Jeffs made five saves to earn his third shutout of the season.
FC Buffalo has three games left in the regular season, starting with a trip to Rochester at 3 p.m. Sunday for a game against the River Dogz.
