Garden Notes: News of area clubs and events

The 19th annual Parkside Garden Tour, presented by the Parkside Community Association, is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The starting point is outside Church of the Good Shepherd, 96 Jewett Parkway, where garden map/directory will be available for $5. In addition, a guided history and architecture tour of the Parkside neighborhood is planned at 1 p.m.; the cost is $10. A free tour of the Nichols school and campus is scheduled at 3 p.m. Tourgoers can also explore the site of the future gardens at the Darwin Martin House, where plans are underway to restore the once extensive Frank Lloyd Wright-designed landscape. The Buffalo-Style Garden Art Sale is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave. Sculpture, glass, pottery, ceramics, paintings, photography and wood crafts will be available. Representatives from area plant societies will be on hand to answer questions. Free presentations on garden topics will be given throughout the two days. Rain or shine.
