Buffalo crack dealer gets Niagara County sentencing break

LOCKPORT – Buffalo crack cocaine trafficker Morrell T. Buster won’t serve any additional time beyond a 51-month federal prison term for having crack with him when he was arrested for shoplifting a pair of sunglasses in the Town of Niagara’s Fashion Outlets 2½ years ago.

State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. on Friday gave Buster 2½ years in prison for that, but made it run concurrently with the federal sentence for cocaine trafficking handed down Wednesday by Senior U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny.

Buster, 43, of Elmer Avenue, Buffalo, had 3.92 grams of crack at the time of the Jan. 17, 2014, shoplifting arrest. In the federal case, Buster pleaded guilty to distributing cocaine in Buffalo between June 2013 and February 2014.
