Letter: It’s offensive to call county workers ‘slobs’

It’s offensive to call county workers ‘slobs’

The definition in the Merriam-Webster dictionary of a slob is a person who is lazy and dirty or messy. The members of CSEA Local 815 Erie Unit certainly do not fit that definition and for The News to portray them as that is offensive.

Complaints regarding less than 1 percent of the workforce prompted Erie County management to enter into negotiations regarding attire for the workplace. From this a dress code was implemented. It certainly did not warrant front-page news.

CSEA members are dedicated employees and taxpayers who take exception to being portrayed as slobs.
