Great Lakes Orthodontics will invest $4.5 million to expand its Town of Tonawanda facility and will add 17 jobs, Empire State Development said Wednesday.
The company will add 25,000 square feet to its Cooper Avenue facility. The company currently has 240 employees.
Great Lakes Orthodontics offers more than 2,500 products and says it operates one of the largest orthodontic laboratories in the United States. The company said needs more warehouse space to support a new product line for orthodontic brackets.
Empire State Development will support the expansion with up to $500,000 in Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits in return for job creation commitments. The Erie County Industrial Development Agency approved $858,000 in property tax savings over a 10-year payment in lieu of taxes agreement, and $274,000 in sales tax savings on construction materials and equipment for expansion and renovation.
