Beer Matters: Mister Goodbar casks, Salumeria Belsito, Gordon Biersch, Hamburg Brewing

Half Way to Cask Ale Festival

Mr. Goodbar will host a “half-way to cask ale” event to complement its December festival. The event will run all weekend with specials on each night.

June 24: $1 off all pints till 10 p.m., $4 select pints and a complimentary buffet starting at 6 p.m. There will be karaoke at 10 p.m. and live music at 11 p.m.

June 25: $1 off all pints from NY breweries and a local Indie rock showcase starting at 9 p.m.

June 26: $5 orders of chicken wings and an open mic music night beginning at 9 p.m.

Buffalo City Brewers Tap Takeover
6 p.m. June 22
Salumeria Belsito
1368 Hertel Ave. (240-9273)

Salumeria Belsito will feature a tap takeover comprised of beer from five Buffalo breweries to pair with its traditional cured Italian meats and cheeses. Pizzas, salads and sandwiches will be available as usual along with discounted pints and pitchers from the breweries listed below.


Brewer’s Dinner
6 p.m., June 22

Gordon Biersch features its first brewer’s dinner of the year. A four course meal will be paired with four beers. The menu includes:

  • Gouda and Habanero Soup paired with IPA
  • Märzen-Glazed Lamb Chops paired with Märzen
  • Bone-In Pork Loin and Sauerkraut paired with Czech Pilsner
  • Beer Glass Stout Sundae paired with Stout

Brew Run Series
3:30 p.m., June 25
Hamburg Brewing Company
6553 Boston State Road, Hamburg (649-3249)

The Brew Run Series features races centered at breweries in the Rochester area such as Genesee Brewing, Prison City, Rohrbach and Three Heads.

The most recent addition to the list of participating breweries in the run series is Hamburg Brewing Company.

Race entrants get a t-shirt, a pint of beer and race timing services. Each race is a 5K run and costs $48.25 ($45 plus fees). Registration for the event can be found here.
