Troopers: Cleveland man charged with possessing handgun, baton

DUNKIRK – A Cleveland man faces two felony weapons possession charges after State Police pulled him over Sunday morning on the Thruway.

Charles Bozeman III, 39, had a loaded 9mm handgun, a collapsible baton, a hatchet and other weapons in his vehicle when state troopers stopped him for speeding on Interstate-90 at about 10:40 a.m.

Police charged Bozeman with second-, third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and speeding.

After he was arraigned in Dunkirk Town Court, he was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail with bail set at $40,000 cash or $80,000 bond.
