Patrick Kane's lakeside home won't be as active this summer.
After twice making negative headlines during his returns to Buffalo, including last summer's rape allegation, Kane will spend this offseason primarily in Chicago, the Sun-Times reported Tuesday. The newspaper quotes a source as saying the Blackhawks told Kane to avoid Buffalo.

The 27-year-old South Buffalo native, who has a Hamburg home overlooking Lake Erie, is coming off a likely MVP season. He had 46 goals and 106 points, and the Blackhawks apparently don't want to take any chances of having a trip home distract from that.
Kane reportedly didn't get into specifics as to why he'll train in Chicago, but he did tell the Sun-Times he'll be "back and forth" between the two cities this summer.
Kane was also accused of assaulting a cab driver in August 2009.
