M&T Bank promoted Michael S. Anthony to administrative vice president. Anthony has been with the bank for 26 years, most recently serving as vice president. He received a bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University and an MBA from Clarkson University.


Dr. Patricia A. Haberman, who has an office in Eggertsville, was appointed by the New York State Board of Regents to the State Board for Dentistry. Haberman will serve a five-year term on this advisory board that is responsible for licensure, scope of practice and discipline decisions for dentists, hygienists and dental assistants in the state. Also, Colleen Huff, practice administrator, has achieved the distinction of Fellow by the American Association of Dental Office Managers.


The American Chamber of Commerce – Peel-Halton-Niagara Region named Rosanna Berardi a director. Berardi is the managing partner of Berardi Immigration Law. AmCham PHN is a nonprofit professional membership organization that promotes cross-border trade between Canada and the United States.

Amherst Alarm was recognized by the Security Industry Alarm Coalition with its 2016 Police Dispatch Quality Award. The PDQ award is given to the company that promotes best practices working with law enforcement to reduce the number of unnecessary dispatches to alarm customers. Amherst Alarm has also earned Five Diamond Certification from the Central Station Alarm Association, which requires that all of its central station operators are certified, having achieved proficiency by passing the Central Station On-Line Operator Training Course.


The Historic Riviera Theatre and Performing Arts Center selected Foit-Albert Associates to design the Riviera Theatre Expansion and Development Project. Foit-Albert Associates will design a 23,000 square-foot addition in the rear of the theatre on a remediated brownfield site that will enable the facility to increase the number and type of events it offers. Construction is estimated to begin in fall 2017.


Goodwill of Western New York received a $50,000 grant from the James H. Cummings Foundation for improvements to its agency headquarters at 1119 William St. in Buffalo. The grant allows Goodwill to replace the roof over the contract manufacturing division, training rooms and administrative areas of the agency. The expansion will allow Goodwill to make room for new business ventures, to employ additional workers and free up funding for other opportunities to serve its clients.
