JAMESTOWN – A Chautauqua County grand jury has indicted a Jamestown man in the December deaths of his wife and stepson.
Allen P. Witruke was indicted on two counts of first-degree manslaughter in the killing of Catherine Witruke and Eric Washburn, Jamestown police and the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office said Monday.
The victims were killed in their Barrows Street home on Dec. 8; both were stabbed and one also suffered blunt force trauma.
Allen Witruke, who initially was charged with two counts of second-degree murder, was arrested in Olean hours after the bodies were discovered. He remains in the Chautauqua County Jail on $1 million cash bail or $2 million property bond, authorities said.
