Free water safety class on Saturday

To ensure all children have the opportunity to enjoy the water safely, Buffalo City Swim Racers is host its third annual Water Safety Festival June 25 at City Honors School, 186 E. North St.

Organizers pointed out that fatal, unintentional drowning rates of African-American children ages 5-14 is almost three times that of white children of similar age.

The festival is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and will include education for families on water safety and an introduction to CPR by the Buffalo Fire Department and more.

The event is free and open to the public.
