Buffalo has to find a way to fix its decrepit housing
The recent article on the poor conditions at the Perry Projects is a startling contrast to the high-end development plans at the Outer Harbor, etc. The complex is in terrible disrepair, with many vacancies due to unhealthy living conditions. Yet the situation for poor families is so dire that there are over 350 on the waiting list for Perry.
Allegedly, there are no public funds to alleviate this situation, while private developers have been pouring money into expensive rentals and condos. I know that funding sources are very different, but Buffalo has to find a way to provide proper living conditions for our needy citizens.
