Explorers boys choir to perform at Falls church

NIAGARA FALLS – The Niagara River Explorers Boys Choir will perform an Independence Day Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Historic Holy Trinity, 1419 Falls St.

A goodwill offering will help support the boys’ annual summer camping trip.

Holy Trinity also is currently hosting its popular Friday Summer Church Tours for a fourth year. The public is invited to tour the 1900s era Roman Catholic Church on the city’s east side from 6 to 8 p.m. each Friday. Tours continue each Friday through Sept. 30, with the holiday exceptions of July 1 and Sept. 2.

The complex was built for the Polish immigrants who migrated to the city to work in the newly developed industries that followed the building of the Niagara Power Plant.

Listed on the local, state, and National Registers of Historic Places, the complex includes; the 1905 church, 1907 rectory and carriage house/garage, 1910 convent and 1914 school. The church was constructed by the Braas Brothers, made of native stone taken from the building of the Hydraulic Canal and boasts stunning stained glass windows.
