Accused drag racer arrested in Orchard Park faces charges including DWI

A Colden man accused of drag racing on Southwestern Boulevard about 9:40 p.m. Saturday faces several charges after leading Orchard Park police on a half-mile chase before pulling over, authorities said.

Joshua J. Grenold, 21, was charged with driving while intoxicated, unlawful speed contest, refusing a roadside alcohol screener, speeding and refusing to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Police said Grenold’s father, who was not identified, was a passenger in the vehicle, and also was argumentative and uncooperative. The arrest occurred as the department participated in an Erie County STOP-DWI patrol.
